ABOUT PROTECT

PROTECT is the only government - private sector partnership for security in the Philippines. It is attended by senior government officials, business leaders, security experts and various stakeholders of the security sector. Launched in 2005 in partnership with the Anti-Terrorism Council, this event was in response to the increasing threats of terrorism that followed the 9-10 terrorist bombing of the New York World Trade Center. Recognizing that most critical infrastructures which are the hard targets of terrorists are owned and operated by the private sector, this government - private sector partnership was forged.

PROTECT initially focused on the protection of critical infrastructures from terrorist attacks. Over the years, the annual series anticipated the new emerging threats - from terrorism, to the global economic crisis, to natural disasters, to pandemics, to cyber attacks, to disruptive technologies, to data breaches, to cyber crimes.

The PROTECT annual conference provides an avenue for dialogue and network thinking among concerned government security officials, business leaders, and those responsible for the security and safety of business, the community and the citizenry. .
